Belle, a screw steamer, was built in 1864 at Philadelphia, Pa.; purchased by the Navy at Boston 2 June 1864: and commissioned later in the month, Acting Master J. G. Green in command.

Belle joined the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron and served as a dispatch vessel along the North Carolina coast. She took part in the capture of Plymouth N. C. 31 October 1864. Ordered north in Muy 1865, Beile was sold at New York 12 July 1865.
